How I got started in UX Design
Before transitioning to UX Design, I had 10+ years of experience in Project and Portfolio Management as a Project Coordinator and a Portfolio Analyst in large IT projects.
I got interested in UX Design when I worked on the projects. I could see that the project design was largely defined by what the stakeholders and SMEs wanted and how the project team saw it. After the user testing was completed and the product went live users would still have issues with it and it made me wonder, had the design been initially centered on users' wants and needs, would that have made it a better experience for the users? When I found out about UX design I knew this was something that I really wanted to do next.
What I'm passionate about
I am passionate about listening to people because hearing their stories makes me aware of their motives and feelings. As a designer, I am motivated by stepping into other people’s shoes and being a user advocate. I am passionate about inclusive design so that all users could have a great experience when using the product. I am also motivated by the sense of completion that comes with seeing your product being used by people.
I am a natural empathizer who is aware of other people’s feelings and challenges. I enjoy planning, setting up timelines and goals, and working towards them, collaborating with clients and colleagues. Design work is exciting to me because I am constantly learning new things while helping create meaningful UX design solutions for users and improving their experience with a product.
